Ten-Wheeled Island was started on 24 May, 2002 by Helene Bechard, thanks to a subsidy from the Quebec Ministere de Culture et Communications and SODEC, as part of the Quebec Multimedia Jeunesse program. The enterprise took off with the creation of the prototype of Diroo's Wonder World, which was launched at various Trade Shows and Exhibitions in Canada, USA and Europe-see "Fairs and Exhibitions".

The aim of Ten-Wheeled Island is to stimulate creativity and the thirst for knowledge in children 3 to 5 and 6-10, through a medium parents and children can enjoy together. We achieve this through multi-media products (books, CD-ROMS, web-based games etc). Ten-Wheeled Island will market more Diroo character products in the future.

Ten-Wheeled Island addresses two distinct target markets in Canada, USA and Europe: education and entertainment. In education, it is targeted at private and public primary schools, alternative schools, daycares that educate and home schools. In entertainment, it finds its market through distributors/retailers, toy shops, and retail bookshops which have a section for children.
