The name of Ten-wheeled island in French (l'ile aux dix roues) sounds the same as the name of the principal character, Diroo.

The island is called Ten-wheeled island because of the yellow tire tubes that border the beach make you think of one of those great big trucks we call 'Ten-wheelers.'

Each wheel represents a life cycle. They all have a particular character and help to make Ten-wheeled island a marvellous world.

Diroo's pouch relates to the truck's trailer, because it contains earth that Diroo brings back from the four corners of the earth.
